Cathy Horyn, Lou Doillon, Jefferson Hack, Daphne Guinness—every bold-faced name and their assistant seemed to be piling into Posen's spring/summer reveal held at Bryant Park last night. Starting a good 45 minutes late, the first few looks that appeared confirmed the wait inside the hot, jam-packed arena would be worth it. Creating a careful interplay between structure and sensuality, Posen seemed to totally nail the idea that women want to look sexy but grown-up and modern, too. His nip-waisted jackets and frothy blouses in a refreshing range of lemony yellows provided a smart blending of volume and fit. And though we've seen many a mini short suit this week, Posen's version really drove home the need to double up on those treadmill runs. All and all, Posen's natural showmanship translated to the clothes, giving women something fun and beautiful to wear next spring.
