    Runway Report: Patrik Ervell

With Patrik Ervell's masterfully restrained palette of quiet blues, yellows, pinks, and grays, his latest collection nodded to the lightness of spring, but retained a dose of the moodiness you'd expect from someone with so many angular letters in his name. Ervell has prepared for a season of turbulence, with protective hoods, high collars, and layering. One raincoat even had the tiers built in, with an extra cowl of material that fit like a capelet. A striped fabric was mitered into a jacket, creating a hypnotic diamond pattern, while horizontal pinstripes ringed around skinny trousers like the loops of vertigo. This isn't a bad illness, though. These are the sort of sharp, intriguing looks you certainly want to catch.
