Celebrity Sisters That Make Amazing Halloween Costumes

Who's to blame for our obsession with celebrity sisters? Before you point to Kim Kardashian & co., think back to your childhood VHS tapes of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Sisters have been fascinating long before Keeping Up wth the Kardashians. We watched Mary-Kate and Ashley interact and wear matching outfits with the same voyeuristic glee with which we currently watch the Kardashians coordinate.
Somehow, by following the sisters closely enough over the years, we hope we can be a part of their genetic club. We can learn their sister slang. We can be on their Family Feud team because we know so much about them.

At this point, if you're a celebrity, the coolest accessory you can have is a sister. We can thank the Middletons, the Kardashian-Jenners, and the Knowles for the true fact that celebrities are better with a sister. Here are the best sister-inspired costumes you and your friend (or sister) can wear for Halloween.

Solange & Beyoncé Knowles

Has there ever been a more iconic duo? We'll wait. To pull off dressing as the Knowles sisters, it's best to choose each of their most individual iconic looks.

So, for Solange, you can dress as the cover of her album A Seat at the Table, (attempt to) copy her wedding dress, or adapt one of her many outfits from the video "Cranes in the Sky."

The possibilities for Beyoncé are practically limitless, from copying her looks from "Formation" and "Lemonade" to decking yourself out in her Ivy Park line.

Sasha & Malia Obama

We watched the former first daughters grow up — and their fashion senses evolve — over the eight years their father, Barack Obama, was president. Sasha and Malia wore memorably bright coats to Obama's second inauguration in 2012.

We don't expect you to invest in the real designer coats (Malia wore J. Crew and Sasha, Kate Spade). Any old pink and purple coats paired with leather gloves will do the trick.

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen

If you've ever wished the word "eccentric" applied to you, now's your chance. Since retiring from show business, the Olsen twins have embarked on a flourishing career in fashion. Their wardrobes have become sophisticated, distinct, and completely unlike what other people are wearing.

For the 2017 Met Gala, Mary-Kate and Ashley went full bohemian. Mary-Kate, pictured left, wore an ivory maxi-dress and a red beaded necklace. Ashley, right, wore a white dress with a denim jacket and lime green cuff. While snagging couture for Halloween is close to impossible, you can find some loose, hippy clothes, wear thick eyeliner, and walk around with a cigarette. People will get the idea.

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen As Kids

Another option? Embrace Mary-Kate and Ashley as you knew them growing up, when they were just twins getting into trouble. In the Halloween-themed movie Double Double Toil and Trouble, the twins wear a witch outfit that's incredibly easy to copy.

For the costume, wear red and white striped tights, a bright blue long-sleeve dress, and your typical witch wear: A pointy hat and cape.

Tia & Tamera Mowry

On Sister, Sister, real-life twins Tia and Tamera Mowry played Tia Landrey and Tamera Campbell, sisters separated at birth and raised by single parents with polar-opposite personalities.

The sisters' wardrobe was goofy, fun, and frequently matching. They piled on patterns, mixed fabrics, and, as you can see, wore matching denim hats. To achieve the look, just find as many zany '90s era clothes you can, and adopt the Mowrys' personalities: Tia, bookish and shy, and Tamera, boisterous.

Pippa & Kate Middleton

Hats, people. You're going to need some beautiful hats if you're going to be Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and her younger sister, Pippa, for Halloween. Second to their wedding dresses, the women's most fabulous items of clothing have consistently been their hats, like the ones they wore to a wedding in this photo.

For this sister costume, wear classy dresses that Queen Elizabeth would approve of, trench coats, and elaborate hats.

Gigi & Bella Hadid

In 2016, Gigi and Bella Hadid both walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Paris. They also gave you a very easy sister Halloween costume to pull off. All you need are baby pink satin robes and matching white lace bras. Though we don't encourage you to walk around in underwear (after all, it's October). Instead, you can wear white terry shorts.

Kendall & Kylie Jenner

Kendall and Kylie may be sisters, but they have dramatically different styles. Consequently, they're more known for their different taste aesthetics than any one particular outfit.

To dress as Kendall, go chic and simple. Wear a black jumpsuit, black pumps, and minimal accessories.

Kylie's costume can be more casual – just be sure to temporarily dye the tips of your hair green. Wear light wash jeans, a crop top, a flannel shirt, and sneakers.

Kim, Kourtney, & Khloé Kardashian

If you're a group of three, be the Kardashian branch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. All being the Kardashians requires is a whole lotta contouring and form-fitting dresses that show off your curves. Each of you can wear all-black outfits like the sisters did in this photo. As long as the Kardashian attitude is turned up to 11, everyone will get the idea.

Jessica & Ashlee Simpson

It's pretty easy to be the Simpsons for Halloween: Just dress as oppositely as possible. The Jessica of the group should lean into her country vibes. Wear jean shorts, a T-shirt, a flannel, and boots that were made for walking.

Ashlee Simpson has gone through a number of hair colors, but we'll always remember her for her pitch black hair phase. The Ashlee of the group should re-read her old diary from middle school and go full emo. Wear your hair dark and straightened, and wear a black dress and boots.
