If Teens & John Cena Decided Our Next President Today, It Would Be...

The 2016 Teen Choice Awards have come to a close, and voters have picked their #ChoicePresident. Is this a sign of what's to come in November?

The presidential vote was one that wasn't decided before the awards show began. During the presentation, viewers were encouraged to vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, either on the Teen Choice Awards' website or on Twitter, using the hashtag #ChoicePresident. Near the end of the show, hosts Victoria Justice and John Cena, along with Keegan-Michael Key (sporting a "Don't Boo, Vote" shirt), announced the results.

Viewers of the Teen Choice Awards are apparently fans of Hillary Clinton. The Democratic presidential nominee won the #ChoicePresident vote. The results came after Cena and Justice dressed up as Clinton and Trump (respectively) during an earlier sketch.

While the #ChoicePresident vote was all in good fun, it also shared an important message for young people ahead of the November election. The Teen Choice Awards partnered with Rock the Vote for the poll, because they want young people to vote in this year's presidential election, too.

To register to vote or to check the status of your voter registration, head over to Rock the Vote's official website. Because surfboards are fun — but it takes more than a Twitter hashtag to determine who'll actually be the next president in the White House.
