The red carpet is the best place to track the beauty evolutions of our favorite celebrities — which, BTW, just keep getting better over the years. And since 1999, the Teen Choice Awards has been the show at which stars show off their colorful, experimental sides when it comes to hair and makeup, so we always make sure to tune in.

Creative braids, out-there eyeliner, and pastel streaks are just a few of the things we've come to expect, and the 2016 red carpet didn't let us down. Best of all, the looks we love most strike just the right balance between playful and sophisticated. So you can wear them to work, a wedding, or a festival. We're planning on working our way through all of them by the time summer ends.

Ahead, check out the coolest hair and makeup ideas from tonight's aquamarine carpet.

Kat Graham
Graham proves that micro-bangs are always cool. When it comes to styling, focus on the big picture — in this case, the half-up bouffant — and let the shorter pieces fall where they may.
