In a personal essay penned by Kim Kardashian West, the media maven wrote that she and her late father Robert Kardashian were actually the first in the Kardashian clan to know about Caitlyn Jenner's (then Bruce Jenner's) transgender identity. According to Entertainment Tonight, Kim recalled her first experience with Jenner's identity, recalling an incident when she was about 21-years-old. She writes, "My mom was out of town with my little sisters, visiting my grandmother in San Diego, and I was living with her and Bruce at the time in Calabasas. I came home from a friend's house and walked into the garage and Bruce was there, dressed up as a woman. Heels, wig, makeup and all! I don't remember specifically what he had on because I put my head down and ran into my bedroom." Kardashian admits that the moment left her shaken and that she and her sisters spent years trying to figure out what was going on. She adds, "For over a decade, we assumed he was a cross-dresser, not transgender." The reality star goes on to say that even before she made the discovery, nearly a decade earlier her dad Robert Kardashian heard rumors about his ex-wife Kris Jenner's new spouse. "Had I not overheard my dad and his friends discussing rumors that Bruce would dress up as a woman years before," Kardashian writes, "I never would have believed what I was seeing. I thought my dad was jealous of my mom's new husband, that he was joking with his friends on the phone, but suddenly I knew it was all true." For a family that lives their life in front of the camera, the most shocking thing about this is that we're learning new details about them.
