Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger Have Split

Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger have officially called it quits. Lavigne took to her Instagram Wednesday to share the news, posting a photo of her and Kroeger from their wedding to her 1.8 million followers. "It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," the caption read. "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other," she added. "To all our family, friends, and fans, thank you sincerely for the support." The couple married on July 1, 2013, in France. On Saturday, Lavigne indulged fans of early '00s nostalgia by joining Taylor Swift onstage at her San Diego concert, where they sang Lavigne's 2002 song "Complicated." Even though the couple just bought a $5 million home together in July, we guess Lavigne decided it was the right time to say "see ya later boy" — yes, we went there.
