J.K. Rowling Reveals Her Favorite Harry Potter Fan Theory

Fact: J.K. Rowling kills it on Twitter. She's brilliantly used the social media site to shut down gay marriage haters and Serena Williams bashers. She's also used 140 characters or less to dole out wise life advice and reveal how much Hogwart's tuition is. And now, she's at it again.

On Friday, someone tweeted the author asking what her favorite fan theory is (there have been a lot of them making the rounds on the internet). The author's response? The theory that Dumbledore symbolizes death. "It's a beautiful theory and it fits," she tweeted.

It stems from the idea that the siblings in The Tale of the Three Brothers — a story-within-a-story about death that's told to children in Harry Potter — represent Voldemort, Snape, and Harry. The logical next assumption, some say, is that Dumbledore represents death. Entertainment Weekly explains the theory: "The evidence: all three Hallows came from Death, and Dumbledore was at various points in possession of all three items; Voldemort feared death above all else (hence Horcruxes), and Dumbledore was often described as 'the only wizard he ever feared.'"

Now that the Dumbledore theory has Rowling's stamp of approval, raise your hand if you're jumping on board, too.
