Seriously, Why Is Nicki Minaj's Wax Figure On All Fours?

Nicki Minaj got to check off another box on her superstar landmark list on August 4 — her very own Madame Tussauds wax figure. The wax Minaj is a frozen moment from her "Anaconda" video, one of her biggest hits.

But Azealia Banks doesn't think it's the right moment to pay a respectful homage to Minaj, tweeting, "Wow, they finally give nicki minaj a wax figure and it's a statue of her bent over on all fours...... White people yo...."

Banks continued to explain why the statue's pose had her so upset in a series of tweets on August 12. She also pointed out, "Martha Stewart's most iconic moment was when she went to jail but they didn't put her wax figure in a jail uniform... Come on y'all..." She called the fact that the statue is
in that position "underhanded shade."

To illustrate her point with an example of another musician, one of Madonna's most iconic moments was rolling on the floor in a wedding gown while singing "Like a Virgin," but while she does have a wax figure wearing that dress, it's fully upright and grinning.

Getting a wax figure is a goofy and small way of knowing you've really arrived as a star. It's not a time when a successful musician like Minaj should be objectified.
