Allie and Noah may have died peacefully in each other's arms, but their love, and their franchise, will live on. The Notebook is being adapted into a TV show by The CW. The series will focus on the in-between years only hinted at in the film, after Allie made the decision to leave one gorgeous man who was deeply in love with her for another gorgeous man who was deeply in love with her.

According to The CW's description of the show still in development, it will "follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters, Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina."

It seems heavy for The CW, until you realize the young protagonist of Reign is trying to prevent a civil war while The 100's leading lady spends her time protecting her friends from cannibals and mad scientists.

Notebook author Nicholas Sparks has been brought on as an executive producer. Todd Graff, the writer behind the teen musical Camp, is also on board. Now the most important question is, will Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams be making cameos, following Bradley Cooper's lead? They could always play the slightly older neighbor couple who give young Allie and Noah hope a relationship can last, even after so much early drama.
