When Grace Jones and Lauryn Hill are performing in your backyard, you stop throwing on your same old weekend getup and start dressing like you're, well, in the presence of some serious legends. And when you quadruple that star power a few times over, the incentive to pull together a sartorially inspiring look multiplies, too. Such was the case at this weekend's annual Afropunk Music Festival in Brooklyn, which featured the likes of Kelis, Danny Brown, Suicidal Tendencies, and SZA. Basically, it's the kind of gathering that inherently calls for some attitude.
Afropunk Fest is the coolest block party you'll ever go to, not to mention a pretty kick-ass way to end the summer festival circuit. And, this year, the looks lived up to the hype and the headliners.

We loved everything from casual outfits that could've taken concertgoers from the front row to the beach, to dressier ensembles that had the ability to rival some of the performers themselves.
