The Miley Cyrus Instagram experience has been intimate lately, to put it lightly. Yesterday, she shared a photo of herself getting her armpits waxed, along with the fuzzy aftermath of outgrowth the singer was apparently referring to as Brad Pitt.
Today, we're seeing a lot of naked Miley — just covered up strategically enough not to get kicked off of Instagram. Which is fine, as always. You do you girl.
But, also: What is going on here? Why so many almost-naked pics lately?
Exhibit A: Miley, nude at the beach.
Exhibit B: Miley, half-nude leaning into a car on the roadside.

Exhibit C: These appear to be LED pasties. Can someone please find out where these are from immediately and order them?
Our best guess is that there's method to this exhibition madness: The former Disney star seems to be toeing the line of Instagram's rule about not flagrantly baring nipples and lady pubes, and then posting pictures that are just infinitesimally short of being censored.
Then again, she's also hosting the VMAs this year. Maybe this is the anticipation-building campaign before the big show. You never know with Miley.
