Amy Poehler’s New Gig Has New Yorkers Jumping For Joy

We're pretty convinced that the only thing better than a movie starring Amy Poehler is an entire summer film festival curated by one of the funniest funny ladies in the biz. On a rooftop. At one of New York's coolest hotels. Beginning Tuesday, July 14, the comedian and actress is taking her talents to Chelsea's McKittrick Hotel, whose theatrical installation, "Sleep No More," she's a big fan of. “After one of my recent visits to see ‘Sleep No More,’ I came upon a tucked-away back garden space on the rooftop that sparked the idea for this film series,” Poehler said in a statement to The New York Times. “I’m looking forward to sharing my favorite films ever.” For the next 11 weeks, she'll be screening a selection of some of her most cherished flicks, which include Sixteen Candles, West Side Story, Hannah and Her Sisters, and Rosemary's Baby, among others. Tickets for the fest can be purchased here, and we suspect they're going to go as quickly as her "Weekend Update" jokes made us laugh. Plus, there are only 30 seats available for each screening, so you can consider this intimate gathering the next best thing to having movie night at Poehler's own pad. Though we would never turn down an invitation to that (you know where to find us, Amy).
