New Family Photos From Princess Charlotte’s Christening Are Impossibly Cute

Princess Charlotte was christened at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham this past Sunday, July 5. We already know that she wore the same gown as her older brother George, and that Charlotte received five godparents at the ceremony. The ceremony also contained a note about the public service the royal family provides for the U.K. — especially during trying times. Photos of William, Kate, George, and Charlotte on their way to and from the christening made the rounds on Sunday, but now the Kensington Palace Instagram account and photographer Mario Testino offer a more intimate look inside the family affair.
Among the newly released photos is an official portrait of Charlotte's extended family. "I am overwhelmed and honoured to be chosen to take these portraits on the occasion of Princess Charlotte's christening, to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of the country, a country that has given me so much," Tesinto captioned the shot he shared on Instagram this morning.
Testino also shared some more informal snaps from the occasion. In one, Kate gazes fondly at her new daughter, who's looking at the camera. In another, Prince George tugs at his hair in an otherwise straightforward, staged royal portrait. It's behind-the-scenes glimpses like these that make this young family feel more down-to-earth and approachable than past generations of royals.
Ahead, take a look at more newly revealed photos from Princess Charlotte's special day. Prepare to coo at your screen, loudly.
