Cara Delevingne Calls Out Superhero Films For Being "Totally Sexist"

Cara Delevingne may be suiting up to star in the upcoming Suicide Squad, but she's clearly not drinking the superhero Kool-Aid. In a new interview with Empire magazine, the Vogue cover star explains what's wrong with the film genre, while revealing how Suicide Squad will be different.

"There are only three girls in [Suicide Squad] but in my opinion they have the best roles,” the actress / model shared. “Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist."

She continued, “Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis. No one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.”

Delevingne, who plays Enchantress in Suicide Squad, definitely has a point about the treatment of female superheroes as sex objects. We just hope the comments don't come back to bite her. Wonder Woman, after all, is a DC Comics character, home to Suicide Squad.

Of course, one might point out that Delevingne's recent appearance in Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video had a similar issue. Corsets and platform heels may not have been the most practical ass-kicking gear. If Delevingne objects to it — and rightly so — how about effecting change by having a word with the higher-ups...or even Swifty herself? (Yahoo)
