President Obama Recognizes Caitlyn Jenner At Logo's Trailblazer Honors

Logo aired its Trailblazer Honors Saturday night, acknowledging those who have made a big impact on the LGBT movement this year. And, while those you would expect made appearances — Miley Cyrus opened the show via video message, Adam Lambert performed — it was President Barack Obama's video message that had us clapping the hardest.

Despite being taped the day before Friday's historic Supreme Court ruling, which legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, the President's message is a positive one, acknowledging how truly far we've come.

“Tonight is a chance to celebrate, not just 10 years of Logo, but 10 years of extraordinary progress for our country,” he said. “When this network aired its first show, gay marriage was a political wedge issue used to divide us. Today the majority of Americans live in states where they can get married, no matter who they love.”

As if that wasn't enough, President Obama goes on to site Caitlyn Jenner as an example of how far America has come.

“All you have to do is look at this month’s cover of Vanity Fair to see how America is more accepting of people for who they truly are," he added. "We still have plenty of work to do together, but tonight is a reminder that when everybody does their part, when every voice is heard, change is not just possible – change is inevitable. So here’s to 10 extraordinary years, and all the years to come. Let’s keep standing together to make sure every American is treated with dignity and respect they deserve.”
