J.K. Rowling's big announcement today is the best thing to happen to Harry Potter fans since Neville Longbottom joined Instagram. The children's author has revealed that a play about the boy wizard will debut in London's West End in 2016.

The BBC reports that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will run at the Palace Theatre starting next summer, with tickets going on sale this fall.

"It will tell a new story, which is the result of a collaboration between writer Jack Thorne, director John Tiffany, and myself," Rowling revealed in a series of tweets today.

"I don't want to say too much more, because I don't want to spoil what I know will be a real treat for fans," she added.

Rowling did reveal that the story is not a prequel. Instead, it will focus on an "untold part of Harry's story."

Potter mania has had quite the resurgence lately. Eddie Redmayne has been cast in the Potter spin-off of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and just this week Rowling shared a new story about Potter and his relatives, the Dursleys.

If only we could all Apparate to London for opening night.
