Over the years, promotional images for The Hunger Games movie franchise have gorgeously conveyed the chilly yet garish formality of the Capitol and the sorrow of the districts. Now, as Mockingjay — Part 2 approaches, striking images from The Hunger Games films have been collected in a book showcasing the photographs of Tim Palen, the chief brand officer and president of worldwide marketing at Lionsgate.
The book from Assouline, Tim Palen: Photographs From The Hunger Games, contains Palen’s portraits of the actors in the franchise, including this image of Liam Hemsworth as Gale, a preview exclusive to Refinery29. With one fist clenched, Gale stands defiant, clouds and smoke filling the air behind him.
Other images highlight elaborate costumes from the film. See, for instance, Jennifer Lawrence being helped into Katniss' wedding dress.

And Effie, played by Elizabeth Banks, gets an appropriately outlandish image, which hones in on her over-the-top makeup.
The new book will be available to order on Assouline.com beginning June 29. The final part of the epic story, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2, arrives in theaters on November 20.
