Videos Show Police Roughly Removing 12-Year-Old Girl From Pool

Last Tuesday, June 9, a woman named Krystal Dixon and her sister brought a group of kids to the Fairfield Aquatic Center in Ohio. Cellphone footage (posted by a local pastor who's speaking for the family) shows shows police asking the family to leave, allegedly because one of the kids didn't have a "proper" swimsuit. The video, posted last night by the Cincinnati Enquirer, includes shots of an officer roughly handling a 12-year-old girl in a bathing suit, cuffing her, and pushing her against a squad car with an arm around her neck.

Police have confirmed that they arrested four people — two adults and two minors — and pepper-sprayed the family. Now, one side is alleging excessive (and racially motivated) force — while police are saying they just did their jobs.

This is the first video of incident at Fairfield Aquatic Center June 9, 2015 involving a mother, her sister and eight kids. Judge for yourself.

Bishop Bobby Hilton provided the cellphone footage to the press in an effort to demonstrate that the police acted inappropriately. Hilton also gave a press conference Tuesday, in which he said he was "shocked" by the officers' excessive force.

"I'm going to arrest you for not leaving," an officer says in the first of three clips, counting down, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1..." The second clip (above) was reportedly taken soon thereafter and shows groups of officers roughly removing two young people from the pool facility. The police can be heard telling the kids to stop resisting. In a third clip, a woman off-camera is heard saying that her eyes burn and that one of the officers has punched her daughter.

All three clips were originally posted separately on Bishop Hilton's Facebook page. The Cincinnati Enquirer has also compiled them into one video.

Dixon, her sister, and a 15-year-old boy are now charged with disorderly conduct. The 12-year-old (who's Dixon's niece) is being charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, according the New York Daily News.

"It's clear to me in the videos they were non-compliant," Fairfield police chief Michael Dickey told WLWT-5. "I think when anybody is attacking a police officer, whether it's a gun attack or a physical attack or a knife attack, these officers are obligated to defend themselves."

This incident comes just days after a Texas police officer was suspended for violently subduing a teenage girl at a pool party. The officer, Eric Casebolt, has since resigned.
