If Fashion Threw A Graduation, It’d Kinda Look Like This

The CFDA Awards are like a big graduation for every major, as well as up-and-coming, designer. It happens once a year, everyone you know (class oddball included) gets together in the same room, and honors are handed out. But, in lieu of caps and gowns, guests come decked out in the best representations of designers' work. And, unlike at other red-carpet ceremonies, no one really needs to ask whom you’re wearing. The person responsible for your look is probably in attendance, too.

Still, among this batch of talented U.S. designers, a few really hit their stride. They showed us not only why they're deserving of a coveted award, but also why they'll be attending CFDA events for a looong time to come. The best of the brilliant artists, and the people who wear them, are all right ahead.
