It's been a rough week for Paris Hilton. Tinkerbell, the socialite/DJ's longtime chihuahua companion, has passed away at the age of 14.
Hilton announced the sad news on social media yesterday, explaining that her pet had died of "old age." She also dedicated her Instagram account to Tinkerbell for the day, posting several photos of the famous dog and sharing this emotional message.
Often seen in Hilton's arms or being toted in one of her designer handbags, Tinkerbell rose to fame during her appearances on The Simple Life, the reality show starring her owner and Nicole Richie. She soon became part of Hilton's trademark, penning a 2004 "tell-all" book, and making cameos on shows like Saturday Night Live. Surely she was also the inspiration for the 2008 film Beverly Hills Chihuahua?
The heiress has a menagerie of other pets at home. Still, you never forget your first. Tinkerbell, you'll be missed.
