March is women's history month. As it comes to an end today, we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate some of our most inspiring — and unsung — feminist heroes, women who are using their lives to effect change. 

They're not actors or politicians or household names. They're women activists, artists, and scholars fighting to make things better behind the scenes. While no list of this sort could ever hope to be complete, these are 14 badass women we think you should know about.
