Taylor Swift Schools The Princeton Review On Her Grammar Usage

Taylor Swift may not have a fancy college education, but she
can sure teach The Princeton Review a thing or two. Like, say,
fact-checking. A fan was using one of the company's test-prep books to study for
the SATs and came across the following grammar questions:

That lyric from Taylor's "Fifteen" would be a good
example of a missing verb and wrong use of the plural pronoun. Except, as
Taylor herself pointed out when she was alerted on Tumblr, "Not the right
lyrics at all pssshhhh." Wait, shouldn't a comma go before "pssshhhh"?

The right lyrics are, "'Cause when you're fifteen and
somebody tells you they love you/ You're gonna believe them." And, really,
we're going to endorse the colloquial use of "them" instead of a
gender-specific pronoun or the not at all lyrical "him/her."

"You had one job, test people," Swift wrote on
Tumblr. "One job." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. (Us Weekly)
