Florence And The Machine’s “St. Jude” Video Has Us Hooked

You've had the Auto-Tuned theme song to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt playing on repeat 24/7. Maybe it's time for a new tune, a new redhead, and a new course of action now that your landlord is threatening to evict you on grounds of noise pollution? Behold, the ethereal and enchanting "St. Jude" from Florence and the Machine. The latest single from How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful now has its own music video, directed by Vincent Haycock. We refuse to confirm or deny reports that we watched it five times before getting out of bed this morning. In true Florence form, the video has romantic and mystical themes. A topless Florence Welch bows before magical swarms of birds, then appears completely drenched and in the arms of a lover. The song is about lost causes, so there's a melancholy tone, but the video — seemingly captured in one long shot — still feels dreamy and uplifting. That's just how they do.
