MTV News reports that One Directioner Zayn Malik has quit the band's world tour. According to a statement issued by the band's publicist, Malik's departure is due to stress.
"1D statement: Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate," publicist Simon Jones announced on Twitter. "The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."
Malik has been battling rumors that he cheated on his fiancée, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, this week. Just yesterday he took to Twitter to defend himself.

The 22-year-old Brit has also been plagued with rumors of drug abuse. This morning, the Daily Mail reported that promoters in the Philippines were demanding a hefty bond to ensure the pair, who were caught smoking weed in a video that surfaced last spring, didn't use drugs ahead of this weekend's show in Manila.
