Of Course Martha Stewart’s Coffee Shop Is So Martha

Queen of entertaining Martha Stewart is finally adding "restaurant owner" to her lengthy (quite eclectic) résumé — and yes, we, too, cannot believe it has taken her this long.  “I am thrilled to open the Martha Stewart Café," Stewart said Thursday in a statement. "It’s a place inspired by my world travels where anyone can come and enjoy a smooth, well-balanced, beautifully handcrafted cappuccino, latte, macchiato, or just plain Americano. In addition, you must try our artisanal teas — they are the finest available anywhere." In classic Martha fashion, espresso beans will be sourced from Trieste, Italy (her favorite) and pastries will be hand-selected (of course) from local spots like Balthazar and Bien Cuit. Details surrounding the coffee shop are sparse (except that it's opening at 601 West 26th Street, where Stewart's headquarters are located), but we can't help but wonder: How will Martha's Breakfast Blend measure up against Oprah's Chai Tea? Will Blake Lively and Martha pair up for an oh-so-crafty Preserve collaboration? And — most important — when is this heaven on Earth opening? No official date has been revealed, but we're hoping praying she'll pull a Beyoncé and send cups of artisanal teas our way when we least expect it. (People)
