This Brand Just Solved Your Biggest Denim Dilemmas, For $1

AYR has changed the way you shop for jeans in a monumental way. More impressively, the brand did it for a buck. As Fashionista reports, in February AYR — the luxe, laid-back basics purveyor in the Bonobos family — took on the business model famously made popular by companies like Warby Parker and True & Co.: You can try it before you buy it. As the AYR site explains, this new trial program lets a customer order three different sizes of its skinny jeans for $1 a pair. They have one week to test out the denim before purchasing — a $175 value — or returning. This try-out period is a pretty genius way to determine how well jeans really fit, how comfortable it is to walk around in them day-to-day, and how they complement the rest of your wardrobe — all things that are hard to tell in a two-minute fitting room session, and are disappointing to discover after you’ve shelled out the dough. It’s also already been successful for the brand so far. It's shipped approximately 450 pairs since the program's launch, and experienced a 10% increase in jean sales.  For the time being, the only type of jeans available to try are a skinny, slim-fit style in a classic, deep-indigo, dark wash. But, given the success, we’re hoping we'll soon see this offer extended to other AYR styles, including the more experimental pairs. We wouldn’t mind taking the of-the-moment flares for a spin to see if we’re really ready for a wide-leg revival. (Fashionista)
