You May Not Even Need A Cable Subscription To Use HBO GO Soon

When HBO launched its streaming service HBO GO in 2010, many were hoping it'd function a bit like Netflix. It sorta of did, but only if a user had a cable subscription to the channel. That's all about to change, however. The International Business Times is reporting that HBO is gearing up to launch its stand-alone streaming service called HBO Now. If all goes well, it could be out by April — just in time for the season premiere of Game of Thrones. HBO is reportedly seeking Apple as a partner for the launch. At $15 per month, HBO Now would cost nearly double what a Netflix subscription costs. Details of exactly what Now would come with are pretty vague, too. Will it feature all the shows and programming GO has? Its price point certainly warrants that. For now, it's probably best to store the login info of friends, lovers, and exes just in case.
