Zac Posen Tapped To Revive A Legendary Couture House

In May, The Weinstein Company announced plans to revive the legendary American couture label Charles James. But, which designer would head the label has remained a mystery — until now. Page Six reports that Zac Posen has been tapped, news that has yet to be confirmed by either Posen or Weinstein staff.  Posen is known for big-deal ball gowns that evoke Old Hollywood glamour, and his designs' "wow" factor has made them a staple on red carpets. As such, he makes a lot of sense as the heir to Charles James' midcentury splendor. If he takes the helm at the storied couturier, Posen will join a team that includes Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman (who is also Harvey Weinstein's wife),  and her brother and Marchesa CEO Edward Chapman, who are serving as creative consultants at the new company. A potential marriage of the talents behind Marchesa and Zac Posen is surely quickening the pulses of A-list celebs as we speak. We'll continue to watch this story and update if the news is confirmed. (Page Six)
