This Power Rangers Reboot Is Straight Out Of Our Childhood Nightmares

If the Power Rangers were as dark as this, chances are our parents would have never let us tune in.  Joseph Kahn, the director behind Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" video, has made an extremely NSFW version of the superhero series. It stars James Van Der Beek and a ton of drugs, guts, and swear words. Kahn explained his reasoning for the video in a now since deleted Vimeo upload. "This is a bootleg experiment not affiliated or endorsed by Saban Entertainment or Lionsgate nor is it selling any product," he wrote. "I claim no rights to any of the characters (don't send me any money, not Kickstarted, this film is free). This is the NSFW version. An alternate safe version is on YouYube." Safe is putting it lightly. This is dark, folks. We'd even consider it bleak. The odds are, apparently, not in our go go Power Rangers' favors. (i09)
