Kanye West’s First Video Game Will Star His Late Mother

In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club radio show, Kanye West made it clear he wasn't there for any album-related announcements, stating that "release dates are played out." He did, however, mention a whole new project he has in development, which we can now discuss when we want to take a break from speculating about that ever-elusive album. West told the radio show that "Only One," his song with Paul McCartney, which you can't listen to without making an excuse for why your eyeballs are suddenly so sweaty, will not only have an equally tear-inducing music video, but a video game (?) as well. Will the game be just as tender as the song itself? At this point, it's hard to say. The object of the game will be to bring West's late mother, who passed away in 2007, to the "highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light." This is a sweet, if certainly strange, way to honor Mama Kanye's memory. If the music video for "Only One" made us want to call our moms, the video game will make us want to, what, make sure our moms know how to make a good impression with St. Peter? We wonder if West was inspired to create the game after witnessing the success of his wife's video-game ventures, though it almost goes without saying that the two games couldn't be less alike in subject matter. Check out the video below for West's announcement.
