Last Week Tonight On The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue: How Is This Still A Thing?

Last week, Sports Illustrated released the vulva bringing cover of its 2015 swimsuit issue, which is not particularly related to sports, but a special issue the magazine launches every year. On Last Week Tonight with John Oliver  last night, they ran a segment asking a valid question: How is the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue still a thing? While the magazine has elevated the careers of some of our favorite models, like Tyra Banks and Kate Upton, after watching the video, we agree with Oliver here — why does an otherwise well-regarded sports magazine release an increasing dated seeming edition every year? And, why, in the age of the internet, does anyone care? The answer apparently is to give newscasters a chance to embarrass themselves (and their pregnant wives) on TV is this video is any indication.
