The Fashion Show That Was “I Can’t Stand Up, It’s Too Beautiful” Beautiful

When said out loud, "Fashion Week" is a double entendre — and for anyone who's ever been a part of all the action, feeling weak is not only par for the course, it's often the reason we love fashion to begin with. So, in honor of the moments of chaos, beauty, and excitement that made us feel weak, we present My Fashion Week-ness: a compilation of accounts from some of the industry's biggest players. They're spilling their most memorable stories from Fashion Weeks gone by, and the ones that keep them coming back for more. For someone who's attended as many Fashion Weeks as Caroline Issa, it's normal every now and then for a runway show to feel a little been there, done that. But, as the Tank magazine CEO and recent Nordstrom collaborator tells us, the most memorable moments reaffirm why we go crazy for fashion to begin with and make us fall in love all over again. Not surprisingly, it was Dior that did this for Issa. We'll let her explain the story, and why some fashion shows have the ability to leave you weak in the knees — for her, almost literally.  “I think, if I had to define my biggest fashion weakness moment, it would probably be Raf Simons’ first couture show for Dior, when I entered those rooms that were filled to the brim with flowers, saw the clothes, and felt the excitement that had built up around what Raf could do and how he was going to interpret the Dior woman. And, I think for me that show encapsulated exactly why I am in this business.  "It was so beautiful and so moving. It was like pure theater and pure fantasy, but it was such a powerhouse. You knew that business was just gonna be on fire. And, I just loved the confluence of all of that together. Literally I was like, 'I can’t stand up, it’s too beautiful.' That doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen, you remember why we’re in this business. It’s just so incredible and beautiful.”
