Rejoice, Starbucks Will Offer Coconut Milk

Photographed by Erin Yamagata.
The surprises just keep on coming from Starbucks. Fresh off the debut of the flat white, the coffee giant is announcing another exciting new addition to its menus. Starting February 17, you can customize your cup of joe with coconut milk from Sumatra.  The introduction stems from a winning result of MyStarbucksIdea.com, the company's outlet for customer suggestions. In other words, the people have spoken, and the green siren is taking heed. If you're tired of soy milk as your non-dairy option, consider switching to coconut, which will also cost you 60 cents extra. While we're undoubtedly psyched about the news, we couldn't help but wonder: Why coconut and not almond? People have been clamoring for the latter to roll out for years — there's even a Facebook page dedicated to the cause. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed for the next announcement.
