Breaking: Train Hits Cars Outside New York City, Bursts Into Flames

UPDATE, 9:24 p.m.: Reports are now confirming that six people were killed in the crash. 

8:20 p.m: A Metro North train collided with two cars at a crossing outside of New York City and all three burst into flames, according to reports. Police are calling the crash a "mass casualty incident." 

No deaths have been reported at this point, though there appear to be multiple injuries. The incident took place at about 6:30 p.m. during evening rush hour, and as many as 800 people were on board the train. Overhead photos show a fire and massive emergency response.

Parts of the Harlem Line of the Metro North Railroad have been closed after the crash, which occurred in the town of Valhalla.
