This Astronaut’s Official Portrait Will Make Your Day (Hint: Dogs)

Astronauts are already heroes (they fly into space!) but Leland Melvin raised the bar when he turned his official NASA picture into an photo sesh with his adorable dogs, Jake and Scout.  Leland is also the host of Lifetime's Child Genius, and has an amazing Twitter feed under the moniker @astro_flow. And obviously a huge dog lover. We wonder what pets other astronauts have, and if we'll ever get an official photo with some cats. Maybe a ferret? Someone has got to have a bird, right? We want to see them! Look at that smile. Hero.
