Supermodel (work) Miranda Kerr is rocking the February cover of Harper's Bazaar, and in between high-fashion shots, she's also doling out life advice. In addition to sharing her love of rose quartz, garter belts, and being naked, the freshly single Kerr also had some thoughts on modern dating. Kerr has a four-year-old son with ex-husband — and professional Tolkien elf — Orlando Bloom, and she isn't currently on the hunt for a new relationship. "I'll go on a date here and there if it works. But at this point my priority is my son. I'm not looking for a relationship. I'm just not."

That doesn't stop her from dishing out some advice that reminds us just a little of The Rules. "Men don't want to be disrespected, and women feel the best when they feel cherished. So if a woman is feeling cherished, she will respect a man, and if a man's feeling respected, he will cherish a woman. It doesn't need to be complicated," she said. (That actually sounds a little complicated.)
Kerr added, "You know, for a long time I had it the wrong way. I was constantly doing, doing. Giving, giving for my partner. But what works is not feeling like you have to be everything to everyone." It's hard to balance being a supermodel and a mom and a businesswoman when your partner is gallivanting around New Zealand wearing prosthetic ears. We feel you on that one.
Kerr is also of the opinion that it's up to the dudes to make the moves. "I believe in the man chasing the girl, but that's just me personally," she said about phone calls.
