If the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is a total flop, let it never be said that it was due to its stars' lack of background knowledge and preparation. Jamie Dornan, who plays titular billionaire and man of singular tastes Christian Grey, went to great lengths to research his role.
In the February issue of Elle UK, Dornan opened up about his visit to a private sex dungeon where he was the only one in the audience. "I went there, he offered me a beer, and they did…whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with two submissives, and he became our kink advisor on the film," Dornan told the magazine. The experience was enlightening when it came to understanding his character, but he won't be implementing anything he saw in his own relationship.

"[G]oing back to my wife and newborn baby afterwards...I had a long shower before touching either of them," Dornan said. "It was an interesting evening." In other words, don't expect Jamie Dornan's palms to start twitching anytime soon.
What's most important is that Dornan did the appropriate background work to really embody the character of Christian Grey. He wouldn't want to disappoint in the red room of pain. (Elle UK)
