If you're already over pastel hair and looking for the next big thing, prepare for your brain to melt. Hari's salons in London are offering "metallic hair color," according to Style.com.
Before you book a U.K. flight, know this: There's no actual metal in this dye. To be honest, the shade doesn't really read metallic. The technique weaves in bronze-toned strands to brighten the overall look and give it a sheen. Instead of the result of typical, chunky highlights, your hair will appear warmed-up and radiant. People may not even be able to tell you got highlights.
Is this what we had in mind when we first read about this service? Not exactly. The trend isn't 100% where we'd like it to be. But, our sources tell us that true metallics are coming. Guru colorist Alex Brownsell, founder of Bleach London, insists that metallic dyes are just a few years away. That's pretty good news for those of us who are dreaming of tinsel-tinted strands for the holidays (ahem).
