This Nail Trick May Actually Be Doable

If you're a fan of nail art and the Internet, you've definitely heard of water marbling. It's a nail technique where you add small drops of polish to a bowl of water, smear them together with a toothpick, dip your fingers in, and voilà — instant nail art.
This GIF has been making the rounds on Reddit. And, for all of the "easy" tutorials out there, this actually looks manageable. You'd just have to do your pinky and thumb separately, since they don't exactly match up on your mitts. The best part is, it's just in time; this look was spotted on the runway at Creatures of the Wind for its Fall/Winter 2014 show.

There was one tip our senior beauty editor Phillip Picardi picked up backstage at that show that may improve upon this already stellar GIF: Katie Jane Hughes of Butter London suggested putting Vaseline on your fingers, so the marble effect only gets on your nails. Don't you just love when you can improve on the already near-perfect?
