A little over two weeks ago, Taylor Swift and her band of pretties attended The 1975's show in Los Angeles. She Instagrammed a few moments, one featuring her lip-synching the British foursome's single "The City." Later that week, Swift donned some of the band's merch and now, she's rumored to be dating frontman Matt Healy. Boy, do things escalate fast in Hollywood.
Like Swift, I happen to be head over heels for this band; I too have lip-synched "The City" while bopping along in the crowd at one of its shows. I've also worn some of its T-shirts. Taylor Swift and I have essentially done the same thing. So, by definition, I could be dating Matt Healy. Swift, however, has star power and managed to exchange numbers with Healy. Honestly, how dare she.
Anyway, so she snagged some digits. Big whoop! That doesn't mean they're dating per se. Plus, Healy played coy when a DJ for Shazam Top 20 predicted their future romance together. "I mean bloody hell, what am I going to do" he said. "Go out with Taylor Swift? She's a sensation, I wouldn't say no." I mean, same? Same. Perhaps they'll work on some music together. The 1975's got that John Hughes vibe Swift's newfound '80s affair likes. Plus, each artist knows a thing or two about writing a damn good pop song.
As for that romance? Well, The 1975 are playing shows here in New York this weekend that I'll be attending — and she's across the pond for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Let's just see what happens when the Swift's away. (E! News)
