From $290 tank tops to $1,400 cashmere sweaters and that $55,000 backpack, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion brand The Row has earned itself a reputation for being as expensive as it is chic. And, unfortunately for most of us who are shopping for presents in the $20 to $50 category instead of the "price upon request" one, the label’s holiday gift guide is no different.
The twins have curated a selection of presents for The Row’s L.A. store that features vintage and modern goods for both men and women. Hoping to ease the hectic nature of the season, Mary-Kate told Elle that “We wanted to create a peaceful space for our clients to do all of their holiday shopping at once." On the list: a rare vintage Van Cleef lighter, Cartier playing cards, cashmere scarves, handmade leather belts, and a bundle of Palo Santo smudge sticks.
All of these items are tagged “price upon request,” which, in fashion speak, means really, really pricey. If you’re in L.A., you can head to The Row’s Melrose Place boutique and inquire about the prices in person (just don't get your hopes up). But, if you still want to channel the Olsens this season without dropping tons of cash, we suggest heading to Etsy instead — you can score Palo Santo smudge sticks there for less than $5. (Elle)
