If we could have asked Santa for our dream fashion film, it would probably sound a little something like this: Cara Delevingne and Pharrell singing and dancing in Chanel couture. But, it's a different jolly old white-haired man delivering the goods: Karl Lagerfeld, of course.
In anticipation of Chanel’s Métiers d’art collection, showing in Salzburg next week, Chanel has released a sneak preview of a short film directed by Lagerfeld. Called Reincarnation, the film stars Delevingne and Pharrell as royal portraits come to life — Empress Elisabeth of Austria (who went by the nickname "Sisi" — get it?), and Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph I.

The short film will also feature a musical collaboration between its two stars. Yes, with Cara D. actually singing an original, Pharrell-penned tune called "CC the World," because why not have all of the talents?
And, it's not just a flight of fancy. The film depicts a crucial moment in Chanel history. While on vacation in 1954, Coco Chanel became captivated by the jacket worn by the hotel elevator operator (also played in the film by Pharrell), which inspired Chanel's iconic design.
Delevingne and Pharrell will also star in an ad campaign for the Métiers d’art collection. The full film will be available for viewing at Chanel.com on December 1, but click through for a sneak preview and some utterly dreamy photos from the set.
