5 Conspiracy Theories About That Video Of Grandmas Smoking Weed

"We found three grandmas who had never smoked pot and gave them an opportunity to try it for the first time. Then we gave them snacks and had them play Cards Against Humanity," reads the description of a now-viral video called "Grandmas Smoking Weed for the First Time." The premise is so simple, yet the result is infinitely watchable.
Cut Video, the production company behind the grannies' now-documented first tokes, notes that "No grandmas were harmed in the making of this video." We, the viewers, really are watching three women who have never smoked marijuana before voluntarily get high for the first time.

The video was filmed in Washington state, where cannabis is newly legalized. Mike Gaston, who works for Cut Video, spoke to Fast Company about its creation. "With the national debate on the legalization of marijuana, we thought, Let's try something that reflects on the absurdity of some of these legacy laws. And, that's how grandmas smoking weed happened."
Okay, Mike Gaston (if that is your real name), we hear what you're saying. But, a "friend" once told us that pot makes you feel paranoid, so we've got a few conspiracy theories of our own about these supposed grandmothers succumbing to reefer madness.
1. This video was sponsored by the anti-creasing lobby.
"I love to iron," one granny confesses. Do you really, Grandma, or is that just what the boys on Capitol Hill want us to believe? TELL US THE TRUTH, Cut Video. After all, it was Patrick Henry who famously said, "Give me irons or give me death." Or something like that.
2. The real point of the video is to raise awareness of queefing.
"What's 'queefing?'" one grandma asks while they're playing Cards Against Humanity. Well, Gran, we're about to detonate a queefing truth bomb all over the Internet.
3. Are we sure these ladies have never smoked weed before?
The Bong Usage 101 tutorial they receive is mysteriously short. Our "friend" told us it's a little harder to master.
4. Cut Video wants to make us all extremely uncomfortable during our annual Thanksgiving "We've run out of things to talk about, so let's watch some viral videos" viewing session.
Does your family not have those? Because I, for one, would like to thank Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, James Franco, and Seth Rogen for the gifts of "Bound 2 (Explicit)" and "Bound 3 (Vague)" last year. Or, maybe Cut Video would like our family to have a very special bonding moment this Turkey Day.
5. You know what I haven't had in years? Cool Ranch Doritos.
Thanks for reminding us that they exist, grandmas. Or, should we say, Frito-Lay?
