Eyeliner (noun): a simple concept that is pretty damn hard to pull off. Between evening out your cat-eye flicks, making sure your smoky eye has the right amount of smudge, and the constant smearing of liquid formulas, things can get a little dicey once you stray from the basics. But, with a few hacks up your sleeve, you can easily go from liner-challenged to serious pro. Cosmopolitan has the scoop on some of these why-didn't-I-think-of-that tricks.
Sure, some of Cosmo's ideas are pretty basic (like using a business card to draw out the perfect winged liner). But, some of them are eye-opening for even the most seasoned pros among us. Like this one: For the perfect smoky eye, they suggest drawing a hashtag on the outer corner of your lid, extending the horizontal lines from the center to just past the end of the lashline. Then, smudge it out with a sponge. Voilà.
