In true Cumberbatch form, the Imitation Game actor didn't share the happy news with a gloating engagement-ring selfie. No, he went old school with a proper announcement in London's The Times newspaper.
"The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London," today's announcement read.

So, who is this Hunter? The 36-year-old Brit is a successful theater director who has been quietly dating Cumberbatch for the past several months. Surely the fact that Bennie is marrying a total catch will soften the blow? (Guardian)
