Ellie Goulding knows how to make a breakup tune. Hell, a solid chunk of her sophomore LP, Halcyon was dedicated to them. However, love is typically in the air whenever she teams up with Scottish producer Calvin Harris.
Not this time, though. Goulding gets into full vengeance mode on a new track off Harris' forthcoming album, Motion. Unlike their collab, "I Need Your Love," where Goulding's searching for her paramour, "Outside" finds her throwing the love back at her ex. "I'll show you what it feels like now I'm on the outside," she sings over a sinister string production. And, since Harris is the maestro, it's danceable. Now, instead of wallowing in post-breakup affections, you can take them to the dance floor.
