It's been five years since Naomi Campbell did any kind of acting, when she had a bit part in the little-seen drama Karma, Confessions and Holi. Now, the iconic supermodel is returning to the screen in what may be her highest profile role to date.

Campbell just booked a major recurring role on Fox's hip-hop saga Empire. The drama comes from The Butler director Lee Daniels, and stars Terrence Howard as a high powered record executive, and Taraji P. Henson as his ex-con wife.
Campbell — who currently serves as the host and executive producer of the reality talent series The Face — is set to play Camilla, a sophisticated temptress who becomes involved with a much younger man. (Naomi Campbell as a temptress? Get outta town!)
"It's an honor to follow in the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo'Nique, and work with Lee Daniels," Campbell said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to joining Lee and this amazing cast on set."
Empire premieres on Fox next spring.
