All the Instagram teasing Lorde's been doing has finally paid off. For the past month, the "Royals" singer has been sharing lyrics from the track she penned for the Mockingjay: Part 1 soundtrack. And, today, the predictably brooding poetic comes to life in the form of "Yellow Flicker Beat."
Lorde assumes the role of Katniss, the leader of The Hunger Games' rebellion, here. It's a fitting call to arms as audiences will soon be immersed in District 13's uprising. "It’s my first offering from what I hope will be a soundtrack you love," Lorde writes on her Tumblr. "It’s my attempt at getting inside her head, Katniss’."
In addition to penning this song for the new Hunger Games' soundtrack, Lorde has curated the entire album. If "Yellow Flicker Beat" is of any indication, our ears are in for a treat. The odds for aural pleasure are, in this case, in our favor. (Tumblr )
