There are so many benefits, both physically and mentally, to practicing yoga. In fact, it has been found that just twenty minutes of yoga can improve your brain's performance. And, with so many styles and classes available, there’s no reason not to be packing up your yoga mat.
Unfortunately, many newbies arrive to their first class wearing standard workout gear. And, not all athletic clothes are created equal. You want to be comfortable in your outfit, so keep a few things in mind when dressing for your next yoga class.
Shape recommends avoiding loose clothing when practicing yoga — after all, you'll be bending, twisting, and squatting all over. To avoid having your shirt fall over your head in a downward dog or another inversion pose, a fitted top is necessary. And, normal running shorts don’t make the cut for some wide-legged poses. If you prefer shorts, be sure to opt for a fitted pair that provides coverage that moves with you. Now that you’ve got the outfit down pat, go forth and get your Zen on.
